Family Movie Night

image291

We know the struggle of trying to take your kids to the movies! Even if it's a movie they want to see, there will be yelling, getting out of their seats and running around. You don't have to be worried about that at the North Sacramento Family Resource Center.
At our Family Movie Nights, we project the movie onto the wall in our large event room where kids are free to roam the room safely, and sit down to enjoy the movie with their friends when they're ready!
Look no further for free, family-friendly activities :)

The Pulitzer Prize winning play WIT

 by Margaret Edson

January 11th-February 9th!

About the show:
Vivian Bearing, Ph.D., a renowned professor of English who has spent years studying and teaching the brilliant and difficult metaphysical sonnets of John Donne, has been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. Her approach to the study of Donne: aggressively probing, intensely rational. But during the course of her illness—and her stint as a prize patient in an experimental chemotherapy program at a major teaching hospital—Vivian comes to reassess her life and her work with a profundity and humor that are transformative both for her and the audience.

Wellness Expo

image302

We are excited to announce the 6th Annual North Sacramento Community Wellness Expo, themed: "Mind, Body, Soul...Community" to take place on Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day, Monday, January 21, 2019 at Grant High School. 3,000 residents are anticipated to participate in the activities offered at the Wellness Expo.

2019 North Sacramento Community Wellness Expo will have exciting fitness and dancing demonstrations with interactive activities to engage all generations. Most importantly, the Expo is designed for interaction that will teach, guide and empower our residents. We recommend creative and innovative ways to engage community residents beyond the table set-up and informational pamphlets. We encourage information for housing shelters, affordable housing rentals and purchasing, financial literacy, college application process, re-entry services, first time home buying, mental health/mindfulness counseling, nutrition, teen sex education, resume and interview skill development and voter registration including mock voting booths, and much more.
